Stearns-Marshall Publications and our Advisory Panel
Stearns-Marshall Publications, a division of Prairie Fire Press, was formed to answer the need of Home School and Christian School materials for the growing number of Baptist Christians around the world. The initial books by Prairie Fire Press, The Collegiate Baptist History Workbook and America in Crimson Red, continued to be received by a wide audience. Through these works, and in the meetings conducted by Pastor James Beller, a tremendous need to have school books for all ages from a Baptist Christian worldview has come to light. Stearns-Marshall Publications was brought into existence to meet at least a small part of that need.
The following scholars, educators and professionals advise us on our materials:
Dr. David Cummins is a veteran preacher of the Gospel and able scholar of Baptist history. His books, This Day in Baptist History, Vols. 1, 2, and 3 have circled the globe with desperately needed information on the past testimony and doctrines of the Baptists. Dr. Cummins is in demand as a speaker on the subject of heritage, as well as in his duties as deputation director of Baptist World Mission.
Dr. James Sightler, physician and author, has been a student of American and Baptist heritage for a number of years. He taught history at Tabernacle Baptist College under the ministry of his father, Dr. Harold Sightler. James Sightler is one of America’s most prolific authors, his works are being used in various circles both in America and abroad.
Jerry Ross, longtime educator, youth speaker, and author is the pastor of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Jasonville, Indiana. Bro. Ross is in constant demand as a speaker to young people in camps and conferences. His books on youth ministry have had a wide audience.
Jeffrey Faggart is the pastor of Harvest Baptist Church in Rockwell, North Carolina. He heads the nationwide Harvest Bible Distributors, a concern which provides Bibles, biographies, histories and every imaginable work of the old Baptists. He is the president of the Baptist History Preservation Society.
